Fengpeng Sun

Associate Professor

Dr. Fengpeng Sun is an Associate Professor in the Earth and Environmental Sciences discipline at the School of Science and Engineering, University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC). His research focuses on understanding Earth’s climate variability and changes through high-resolution climate modeling and analysis of physical climate processes. He is particularly interested in regional and local climate, its change, and socioeconomic implications. Dr. Sun earned his Ph.D. in Earth System Science with a specialization in Climate Dynamics from the University of California, Irvine, and continued his research as a postdoctoral scholar and assistant researcher at UCLA before joining UMKC in 2016.
