Robb Jacobson

Supervisory Research Hydrologist

U.S. Geological Survey

Dr. Robert Jacobson is an adjunct professor of potamology in the MU School of Natural Resources. He is retired from the U.S. Geological Survey where he was a Supervisory Research Hydrologist and Branch Chief with 42 years’ experience in river research. He received his Ph.D. from the Whiting School of Engineering, The Johns Hopkins University, in 1986. His research area is in riverine habitat dynamics with an emphasis on large-river ecosystems. At the U.S. Geological Survey, Columbia Environmental Research Center, he led an interdisciplinary team of physical and biological research scientists engaged in studies to inform large-river restoration strategies, endangered species recovery, invasive species management, adaptive decision making for management of riverine resources, and native mussel population recovery.
